I had a fascination with this 1979 Ford F-350 Ranger Camper Special long before I ever laid eyes on it. I didn’t really understand why until Grandpa Chuck asked if I wanted to take a ride in it. From the moment the engine turned over all Chuck could talk about was his truck, from his upgraded exhaust system to his five-coat enamel paint job. While I faintly recall anything my soon-to-be grand in-law was talking about, I couldn’t help but feel the bond that this man of 80 some years had with his truck. I mean, I had always heard the old saying about a man and his truck, but this was genuinely the real deal…no joke. Of course I was ignorant to think that no one else had drawn the same conclusion, turns out it was a known fact that Grandpa was attached to his truck…
But something else happened that hot summer evening as I showed the images to the family. For the first time I understoood the emotional power that a photograph could have on people, especially family, and I was just so grateful to have captured the moment . I have a feeling we have not seen the last of Grandpa Chuck, cause he is the embodiment of the slogan “Ford Tough.”

How true Dana. Grandpa Chuck is the real deal and definately attached to his truck.
